Four Men Arrested Following Discovery Of Suspect Device

Four men have been arrested in connection with a suspect device in Co Longford.

It is understood that the men were detained after garda found a suspected improvised explosive device in a car travelling on the R392 at Forgney, close to Ballymahon.

The R392 was closed at Forgney to facilitate the Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit who attended the scene. The scene was later declared safe and the road reopened.

A house that was searched in a follow up search has been preserved for a technical examination.

Investigations are continuing.

Four Men Charged In Connection With Newtownstewart Violence
