Four Men Arrested Following Discovery Of Suspect Device

Four men have been arrested in connection with a suspect device in Co Longford.

It is understood that the men were detained after garda found a suspected improvised explosive device in a car travelling on the R392 at Forgney, close to Ballymahon.

The R392 was closed at Forgney to facilitate the Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit who attended the scene. The scene was later declared safe and the road reopened.

A house that was searched in a follow up search has been preserved for a technical examination.

Investigations are continuing.

Suspect Device And Weapons Found In Substation
A bomb disposal team have been deployed after workers at an electric substation in Dublin found a suspect device. Gardaí are investigating the discovery at Greenfort Gardens in Ronanstown. The device was discovered in an Electricity Supply Board (ESB) substation at around 12.45pm by ESB staff.

Explosive Device Made Safe In Dublin
An explosive device was made safe by the Army early on Tuesday morning in Dublin. A bomb disposal team arrived at Cushlawn Park, Tallaght, at 2.35am to deal with the object outside a private home. Local people were evacuated, and the scene was declared safe at 3.20am.

Suspected Explosive Device Found In Car Stopped By Garda
Two men have been arrested following the discovery of a suspected explosive device in a car stopped in Leinster. Gardaí from the Crime and Security section and the Special Detective Unit, stopped the car on the Naas Road, inbound just before the Long Mile Road junction, at approximately 19:30 on Wednesday evening.
