Man Fatally Stabbed In Dublin

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin in the early hours of this morning, 19 July.

Garda responded to reports of an incident in Clinches Court, North Strand at about 4am this morning. When they arrived at the scene a man, aged in his 40s, was found with serious stab wounds. He was rushed to the Mater Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

It is understood a second man was also injured and is being treated at St James Hospital.

Following an appeal for information garda arrested a 45-year-old in connection with the incident. He is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984, gardaí said in a statement.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to contact Mountjoy Garda Station or any garda station.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Co Limerick Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal accident in Hospital, Co Limerick, in which a 44-year-old man was killed. The man was walking on Main Street in the town at about 2am on Tuesday morning when he was hit by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood no one else was injured in the incident.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Former Politician Arrested Over Alleged Murder Conspiracy
A former Co Cork politician has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. It is understood garda detectives were acting on information when they arrested the as-yet-unidentified man near Cork city on Friday morning. He is being held and questioned at a garda station in Cork and can be detained for up to a week.

Murder Inquiry Follows Dublin Attack
A murder investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man died in hospital as a result of an attack over the weekend. Gardaí in Clontarf, Dublin, have begun the now murder inquiry after Barry Walsh who was from Castleknock was chased and beaten in the early hours of Sunday morning at Marino Mart.

Two Arrested Over Aidan Myers Murder
Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers, gardaí have confirmed. Mr Myers, 37, was killed by a gang who had attempted to hijack the car in which he was a passenger in Faughart, Co. Louth on December 12, 2006. He died after being attacked by a machete.
