Two Arrested Over Aidan Myers Murder

Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers, gardaí have confirmed.

Mr Myers, 37, was killed by a gang who had attempted to hijack the car in which he was a passenger in Faughart, Co. Louth on December 12, 2006.

He died after being attacked by a machete.

A 25-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman were arrested on Tuesday morning. It is understood that they are being questioned at Dundalk Garda Station on suspicion of withholding information about the killing.

Man Due In Court Over 2006 Murder
A 21-year-old man is appearing at Dundalk District Court today (Wednesday), charged in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers in 2006. Thirty-seven-year-old Aidan Myers, of Cox's Demesne, Dundalk, was killed by a gang who attempted to hijack a car in which he was travelling in December 2006.

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.

Sixth Man Arrested Over Murder Of Aidan O'Driscoll
A sixth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of dissident republican Aidan O'Driscoll. The suspect was arrested in Cork on Sunday, 09 April. He is being questioned at Mayfield Garda Station. Mr O'Driscoll was shot dead in Blackpool, Cork, on 07 December 2016.

Eight Admitted To Hospital After Chemical Leak
Eight people have received hospital treatment following a "localised chemical leak from a manufacturing vessel" at Bristol Myers Squibb in Co Dublin. The biopharma company, which is based in Swords, said that an onsite emergency response team were able to deal with the incident.
