Firearms Recovered During Vehicle Searches In Finglas

Firearms have been recovered during a garda operation in Finglas.

Led by the K-Community Action Team, garda made the discovery during the search of two parked cars as part of an ongoing policing operations targeting criminality in the area.

The weapons recovered include a single barrel sawn-off shotgun and a .22 pistol. A small amount of ammunition was also recovered from one of the vehicles.

Ballistic tests and a forensic examination will be carried out on both weapons.

No arrests were made during the operation.

Gardaí have recovered a number of weapons in an operation targeting the activities of dissident republicans. A handgun, a rifle, ammunition and components for other guns were found during a search in Raskeagh, outside Dundalk, Co Louth.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information on a cache of weapons recovered in a search operation in Crossmaglen in October, 2023. The proactive search operation took place in the Monog Road area on 30 and 31 October 2023.

An investigation has been launched after the discovery that €9,000 went missing from an evidence bag at a garda station in Co Dublin. The money was part of €26,000 recovered following a robbery at a shop and post office in Lusk in January.

Garda Investigate Shooting At Co Cork Home
An investigation has been launched after a shot was fired at a house in Co Cork on Monday. It is understood that armed gardaí responded to reports of a shot being fired at a house in Crookstown. When they arrived an elderly man is understood to have come out and spoken with garda officers at about 19:00.
