Man Stabbed As Youth 'Bumps' Into Him In Letterkenny

Gardaí are investigating a stabbing incident in Co Donegal, which left a man with a blade embedded in his side.

According to reports, a man was walking on Port Road, Letterkenny, when he was "bumped into" by one of three "youths wearing hoodies". Moments later the man developed a sharp pain in his side and discovered that he had been stabbed and the blade had been left in his side.

It is understood that the man sought hospital treatment and garda was contacted.

A garda spokesperson described the incident as a "deliberate attack" and said that they are still trying to established a motive for the incident.

Anyone with information about the attack, which is said to have taken place "in broad daylight", is asked to contact garda.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Remains Critical Following Shooting In Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for information after the 36-year-old victim was shot a number of times at around 9:35am at Dun Emer Place, Lusk on Tuesday, 05 July. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Man Stabbed To Death In Carlow
A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in County Carlow. The incident occurred in an apartment in Barrow Mills, Graiguecullen, Carlow at approximately 2am in the early hours of Friday morning. The 37-year-old man was taken to St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny with stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigation Launched Into Alleged Incident Between Garda And Homeless Man
An investigation has been launched into an alleged incident between a garda officer and a homeless man in Dublin on Friday. According to reports, at about 15:30 on Henry Street in the city centre, there was an altercation between an officer and a homeless man. During the incident, it is claimed that the man took the garda's can of pepper spray.
