Girl, 2, Dies After Incident In Cork

A toddler has died after an incident at a house in Cork.

Emergency services were called to a property on Boreenmanna Road at around 5.30am this morning, Friday 05 July.

The two-year-old was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. It was later confirmed that she has died.

Gardaí are investigating and have sealed off two apartments for a technical examination.

A pensioner has died following a road collision in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle incident occurred on the R188, Monaghan to Cootehill road, at Stranooden on Saturday. A passenger in one of the cars, a female aged in her 80s, was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, however she was later pronounced dead.

Teenager Dies In Cork House Fire
A teenager has died in a house fire in Co Cork on Sunday. Emergency services were called to the Elmvale area at around 3pm. It is thought the 17-year-old male fell asleep after leaving the chip pan on. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No-one else was in the house at the time of the incident.

Men Airlifted To Hospital Following 'Serious' Workplace Accident
Two men had to be airlifted to Cork University Hospital following a serious workplace accident in Shannon. It is understood the men were working at Shannon Industrial Estate, Co Clare, when the incident happened at about 15:30 on Thursday afternoon. The men remain in hospital, where they are being treated for "serious burn injuries".
