One Arrested After Masked Man Threatens Cork Resident With Knife

Gardaí investigating an incident in which a masked raider armed with a knife robbed a home in Cork have arrested a man this morning, 16 January.

The burglary occurred on Barrack Street on Friday 11 January at around 7pm, when a man wearing a balaclava and armed with what gardaí believe was a knife forced his way into a house and demanded cash.

The suspected fled the scene with a sum of money.

A man in his 30's is being detained at the Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was on Barrack Street last Friday between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and who may have witnessed any suspicious activity to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021-4522000.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Two Held Over Cannabis And Ecstasy Seizure
Two men have been arrested following the seizure of large quantities of cannabis and ecstasy in Co. Dublin on Monday. Ten kilos of cannabis resin was discovered in a car, which was stopped at City Park in Saggart in a planned Garda operation on Monday afternoon. The driver of the car was arrested.

Gardaí Seize Cocaine In Cork
Three kilos of cocaine have been seized by gardaí during searches in Cork. One kilo of the drug was found in a van stopped by officers at Strawhall in Fermoy on Thursday evening. A man, believed to be the van driver, was arrested. Two more kilos of the drug was found during a follow-up search of a flat in Mitchelstown.

Gardaí Tackle Dublin Swordsman
Gardaí officers called to a 'domestic' incident in Dublin ended up tackling a man armed with not one, but two swords. He was eventually restrained and arrested after the row at his home. Officers were tasked to attend the incident at a flat complex in Dublin’s north inner city shortly before midnight and found the 38-year-old on the street.

Garda Appeal For Help Tracing Missing Galway Man
Gardaí are appealing for help in tracing 29-year-old Eoin Madigan, who has been missing since 05 January. Mr Madigan was last seen at about 22:00 on Monday 5 January on Mainguard Street in Galway City. He is described as 5’8" tall, of medium build, with short black hair. When last seen he was wearing a grey/blue zip hoodie and blue jeans.
