23-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Collision

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal motorcycle collision in County Wicklow.

Shortly after 2pm on Monday, 19 November, a 23-year-old man was fatally injured when he came off his motorcycle at Hillbrook Lower the R748 near Carnew. It is understood he was travelling in the direction of Tinahely at the time of the incident.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His body was removed to the morgue at Naas Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. The local Coroner has been notified.

The scene was preserved overnight to facilitate examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators today.

Gardai Investigate Fatal Road Accident
An investigation has been launched into a fatal traffic collision in Blackwater, Co Kerry, on Saturday, 15 August. A male motorcyclist, aged in his 50s, was seriously injured in a collision with a car on the N70, between Kenmare and Sneem, at Lackeen, Blackwater. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí in Bray have appealed for witnesses to fatal road accident in Newtownmountkennedy, just before 8am on Monday morning. A 58-year-old male was seriously injured when his car crashed into a ditch at Kilmullen Lane. Paramedics treated the man at the scene, however, he was pronounced a short time later.
