Men Held Over Dublin Airport Cash Seizure

Revenue officers have seized more than €63,000 in two separate operations at Dublin Airport.

Officers stopped and searched two Romanian men following routine profiling. The men were travelling separately; however, both were boarding the same early morning flight to Budapest at 6am on Monday, 15 May.

Revenue seized the cash suspecting it to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity.

Appearing before Dublin District Court, Judge Anthony Halpin granted a three-month detention order to allow Revenue to investigate further. These investigations are ongoing.
