Two Men Charged Over Dissident Republican Activity
Two men have appeared before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court charged in connection with dissident republican activity.
The men were arrested on Sunday, 14 August, shortly after 11pm in the Leitrim area by local members of An Garda Síochána as part of an operation targeting dissident republican activity in the Sligo/Leitrim area.
They were detained at Sligo Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.
The men appeared before a special court sitting at 9pm on Tuesday 16 August, where they were remanded in custody until 19 August.

Two men, arrested carrying two handguns in Cork city on Sunday afternoon, are being question by garda in connection with dissident republican activity. A follow up operation has seen garda search a number of homes and businesses. The two men were arrested after Garda became suspicious of a van being driven in the Togher area around 16.10 on Sunday.

Four Arrested Over Dissident Republican Activity
Four men have been arrested over dissident republican activity. Members of An Garda Siochana from the Special Detective Unit carried out 20 searches in Counties Louth, Dublin and Wexford on Wednesday. All of the men are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against Act at various Garda Stations in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

Men Arrested In Garda Raids In Dundalk
A garda search targeting criminal and subversive activity has lead to the arrest of two men in Dundalk, Co Louth. Various properties at six locations in Dundalk were targeted in the early morning seaches, which garda said where not directly related to the investigation into the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
