Woman Charged Over Fatal Fire In Cork

A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal fire in Mallow, Cork, in March, 2013.

Two men died in a fire at an apartment at Granary Court on 13 March, 2014.

The woman was arrested on Monday and brought to Mallow Garda Station where she was charged.

She is due to appear before Mallow District Court at 10:30am this morning, Tuesday 23 February 2016.

UK police are continuing to search for a Cork woman missing in Glasgow. 24-year-old Karen Buckley, who is from Mourneabbey near Mallow, is a student in the Scottish capital. She has been missing since the early hours of Sunday morning.

Two Men Die In Mallow Apartment Fire
Gardaí in Mallow have reported the deaths of two men in an apartment fire. According to gardaí the fire at the Granary Court apartments on St Joseph's Road was reported just after midnight. It is thought that there had been a birthday celebration in the apartment leading up to the fire. A third man and a woman were rescued from the apartment.

Elderly Woman Killed In Collision In Mallow
Gardaí in Co Cork have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck on Thursday 19 December. The collision occurred at approximately 12:55pm on the N20 at Clough Lucas, Mallow, Co. Cork A woman, aged in her early 90s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where she later passed away.

Man Killed In Co Wicklow House Fire
A man has died in a house fire in Co Wicklow last night. The fire took hold of the property on Ballybeg Road, Rathnew at about 8pm. The victim was in his 60s. Gardaí are attempting to establish the cause of the fire and will continue to examine the scene today and have asked anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
