Elderly Woman Killed In Collision In Mallow

Gardaí in Co Cork have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck on Thursday 19 December.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:55pm on the N20 at Clough Lucas, Mallow, Co. Cork

A woman, aged in her early 90s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where she later passed away. A Garda forensic examination of the scene has been carried out.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users travelling in the area at the time of the collision who may have dash cam footage, to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Mallow Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí on Mallow have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Kanturk, Co Cork, on Thursday morning. The collision occurred at Glen South, Naan, Kanturk at approximately 11.30am on the Kanturk/Banty to Cork Road and involved a car and a rigid truck. The 78-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Leaves Scene Of Fatal Accident
A man has been arrested after fleeing from the scene of a fatal accident on County Cork in the early hours of this morning. Two men in their 20s were killed in a head on collision of two vehicles at approximately 2.45am this morning on the N25 at Caherulton, Castlemartyr, County Cork.

Appeal Follows Mallow Burglary
Gardaí at Mallow who are investigating a burglary at a business compond at Currymount, Buttevant, Co Cork this morning are appealing to the public for information. At approximately 6.15am, an unknown number of people broke into the compound and unloaded containers off a truck that was on the premises.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning.
