Search Continues For Cork Woman Missing In Glasgow

UK police are continuing to search for a Cork woman missing in Glasgow.

24-year-old Karen Buckley, who is from Mourneabbey near Mallow, is a student in the Scottish capital. She has been missing since the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is known that Ms Buckley was at a nightclub with a group of friends, who last saw her, when she said she was going to the bathroom.

Police said they know Ms Buckley went back to a man's flat in the city, before leaving at about 4am on Sunday. She has not been seen since.

Ms Buckley's parents have travelled to Glasgow to help police appeal for information.

Harney Denies Threatening To Quit
The Health Minister, Mary Harney, has denied reports she threatened to resign over the medical card debacle. Reports on Monday claim Ms Harney threatened to walk out if the highly criticised plans to end the automatic medical-card entitlement from over-70s were scrapped. Karen Buckley's Murderer Alexander Pacteau Jailed For Life
A man found guilty of murdering student Karen Buckley has been jailed for life. Ms Buckley, 24, who was originally from Cork, went missing in Glasgow after a night out with friends. Her body was found on a farm four days later. Alexander Pacteau, 21, killed the student shortly after meeting her outside a nightclub in April of this year.
