Woman Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting In Athy

A woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting in Athy, Co Kildare, on Friday.

Jason Doogue, 23, was killed outside his home in the Greenhills area.

A female, aged in her 30's, was arrested on Monday afternoon in Athy. She is currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Newbridge Garda Station.

Two men are continuing to be detained at Kildare and Naas Garda Stations.

The investigation is ongoing.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Co Kildare
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Athy, County Kildare. A female pedestrian, aged in her 60s, died after she was struck by a truck on Duke Street at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, 13 February. Emergency services treated the woman at the scene but she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí Appeal For Missing Teen Nathan Mulligan
Gardaí are appealing for information to trace the whereabouts of 16-year-old Nathan Mulligan. Nathan has been missing from Athy, County Kildare, since Tuesday 21 July 2015. Nathan is described as being 5'10", of athletic build with brown eyes and black hair which is shaved at the sides.

Two Teens Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Jason Doogue
Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of Jason Doogue, 23. Mr Doogue was shot outside his home in Athy, Co Kildare, on 21 August. One of the boys, believed to be in his early teens, is being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act. He is being held at Leixlip Garda Station.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.
