Man Arrested Following Armed Robbery In Arklow

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following an armed robbery of a service station on the Dublin Road, Arklow, on Tuesday.

A lone masked man, entered the premises armed with what is believed to be a knife; he threatened staff and demanded cash.

Gardaí were alerted and in a follow up search a man in his 20's was arrested in connection with the robbery. He was detained at Arklow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984. All the cash was recovered.

The man was released from custody last night (28/7/15) and a file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A man has been arrested after a bungled post office robbery in Arklow. Gardai in the town say they are investigating the attempted armed robbery, which took place on the Tuesday. The attempted robbery occurred at approximately 2.10pm on when a male entered the Post office and produced what is believed to be a firearm.

Three Arrested After Post Office Robbery
Three men have been arrested in following an armed raid on a post office in Arklow, Co Wickow. An armed gang, one of whom was carrying a gun and another a sledgehammer, escaped with between €20,000 and €30,000 in cash following the armed assault at around 9.30am this morning. No shots were fired during the robbery and nobody was injured.

Garda Hunt Man Following Attempted Armed Robbery
Gardaí are searching for a man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an Ulster Bank in Blackpool, County Cork. According to reports, a man entered the branch and produced a knife. He threatened staff with the knife and demanded cash. It is understood that a bank teller gave the man a special cash bundle containing a dye pack.

Man On Run Following Armed Robbery In Co Kildare
A man has been arrested and another is on the run following an armed robbery in Co Kildare on Sunday morning. Staff at a shop on Johnstown were held up by two men armed with a firearm, just after 08:15, escaping with a sum of cash. One of the men was arrested near the scene a short time later. He is being held at Naas Garda Station.
