New Report Questions 'Cooked Alive' Dog Story

A new report suggesting a dog died after it was "cooked alive" were not accurate and had been misinterpreted, according to RTÉ.

The original report said the dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, had been found in a "terrible condition". In a post on the society's Facebook page, the group stated that they believed the dog had been hogtied and "cooked alive" over an open fire. It said the dog's internal organs had failed after being partially cooked during the incident.

However, a new report by RTÉ states that a volunteer at the Kildare and West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has disputed the story.

According to the volunteer, the dog was found in a "bad condition" on an area of charred ground but that there was nothing to suggest the animal had been set on fire.

The volunteer said while some of the dogs hair had been singed, there was no third degree burns on its body and it still had its fur.

Garda were allegedly investigating the incident but have made no comment on the case.
