DCC Seeks Opinions For New Litter Managment Plan

Dublin City Council is seeking the public's views on dealing with litter in the city as it develops a new litter management plan.

The council wants to hear from the public, residents' associations and business representative groups on the issues of litter in the city, illegal dumping, dog fouling, graffiti and flyposting.

The consultation runs until 31 March and submissions can be made by email to littermanagementplan@dublincity.ie or in writing to: Executive Manager, Dublin City Council, Waste Management Services, Environment and Transportation Department, 68/70 Marrowbone Lane, Dublin 8.

DCC Publish New Transport Study Proposals
A public consultation is to be launched tomorrow on Dublin City Council's (DCC) new transport study, which lays out a number of proposals to "enhance overall movement in the city". DCC said that traffic congestion in the city is "already rising" and morning-peak journeys are estimated to rise by more than 40,000 by 2023.

Motorists can make Christmas savings this December thanks to Dublin City Council’s Christmas Parking Promotion. Anyone can park in on-street car parking spaces for €1 per hour every Saturday and Sunday in December in Dublin city centre’s core trading area. This comprises over 800 on-street parking spaces.

The Government has criticised the Labour Party, calling it a "shambles" over a reversal on their policy on the Dublin City speed limit controversy. Fianna Fail TD, Chris Andrews accused the Labour Party of "disarray" within its ranks over the controversial 30kph speed limit imposed by Labour councillors in Dublin city centre.

Dublin City Set For Reduced Speed Limit
Dublin City Council has announced that they are to reduce the speed limit for motorists within the city centre area to 30km/h. The 30km/h limit will be introduced to key areas in the capital including Westmoreland Street, Dame Street, D’Olier Street, the north and south quays and other streets in the city centre.
