Father And Son Stabbed Multiple Times By Suspected Car Thief

A father and son are being treated in hospital for stab wounds after they encountered a man who is believed to be trying to break into their car early on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí said the 47-year-old man and his 17-year-old son were stabbed multiple times, however their wounds have been described as "minor".

They are being treated at Kerry General Hospital.

Garda have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact Tralee Garda Station.

The assailant is described as approximately 5ft 10/11in tall, of slim build, with light blond hair. He was wearing a black hooded top with white stripes on the sleeves.

Woman Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing In Dublin
Gardaí investigating a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Saturday have arrested a woman. It is understood that a 36-year-old man died from stab wounds sustained in an incident in Phibsboro Road at about 22:30. The man was pronounced dead at the Mater Hospital. Garda are holding a woman, aged in her 40s, in connection with the incident.

Appeal For Information After Man Arrives At Hospital With Gunshot Wounds
An investigation has been launched after a man presented himself at the Mater Hospital in Dublin suffering gunshot wounds to his leg. Gardaí say that the man in his 20s was driven to the hospital by another way, with the hospital alerted to his condition after the car collided with a barrier in the hospital's car park.

Manhunt Launched For Escaped Prisoner
A major manhunt is underway following the escape of a prisoner from Tallaght Hospital. 53-year-old Derek Brockwell was at the hospital being treated for diabetes when he made his escape. It is understood two garda officers suffered stab wounds during an incident prior to the escape.

The Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill has been published by the government following approval by the Cabinet. Several significant changes have been made to the outline of the Bill, which was published in April. The Minister for Health will be given the power to stop suspended an institution if deemed to be operating the Act inappropriately.

Man Critical After Arriving At Garda Station Suffering Gunshot Wounds
A man is in a critical condition after being shot a number of times in the neck and upper body in a west Dublin church car park on Wednesday evening. The man, aged in his 30s, managed to drive himself to Clondalkin Garda Station, despite having been seriously injured in the shooting at around 18:00 yesterday.
