Five-Year-Old Dies In Farm Accident
Gardaí in Co Offaly have confirmed that a five-year-old boy has died in a farming accident.
They said the child was involved in an accident on a farm in the townland of Kincora, near Ferbane at about 15:00 on Monday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullymore.
The details of how the child died have not yet been released.
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

An eight-year-old girl has died and an 11-year-old girl seriously injured in a farm accident in Cork. The incident occurred in Newtownshandrum, near Charleville, on Sunday evening. It is believed the girls were playing in a field when a tractor bucket fell on top of them.

A man has died following an accident on a farm in County Carlow on Thursday at around 6pm. It is believed the 79-year-old man was hit by a front loader on a digger on the family farm in Bennekerry. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Health and Safety Authority inspectors are expected to carry put investigations today.

Woman, 82, Dies In Road Accident
An 82-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Donegal. The crash occurred at around 3.50pm on Monday (18 August) at The Ross in Bundoran. Gardaí have said a car collided with a fence in the incident. The woman was transferred to Sligo Hospital but later died from her injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí.
