Girl Killed And 11-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Farm Accident

An eight-year-old girl has died and an 11-year-old girl seriously injured in a farm accident in Cork.

The incident occurred in Newtownshandrum, near Charleville, on Sunday evening.

It is believed the girls were playing in a field when a tractor bucket fell on top of them.

The eight-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the second girl is currently being treated at Cork University Hospital.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Teenage Girl Missing From Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for help locating a teenage girl missing from her Dublin home. 17-year-old Donna Maughan is missing from the Blanchardstown area. She is approximately 5'5", of slim build with blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Gardaí on 01 6667000.

Missing 16-Year-Old Found 'Safe And Well'
A 16-year-old girl missing from Coolock has been found "safe and well", garda have reported. Gardaí in Mountjoy had issued an appeal for help in tracing Jadine Dunne, who had not been seen since the early hours of Monday, 26 October. Garda thanked the public for their assistance in their search. No further action is needed.

Teenager Drowns On Holiday
A 17-year-old girl from Kilkenny city is reported to have drowned while on holiday in Spain. It is believed that the body of the girl, reported to be from Assumption Place, was found in a swimming pool on Friday. According to reports, the girl was on holiday with her mother and grandmother.

Inquest Opens Into 2011 Cork Airport Crash
An inquest has opened into a plane crash at Cork Airport that killed six people in 2011. The crash happened on the 10 February when a 19-seater Metroliner aircraft crashed at Cork Airport on its third attempt to land in dense fog. The flight had arrived from Belfast and was carrying 10 passengers and 2 crew.
