Child Fatally Injured In Farming Accident In Co Mayo

A four-year-old boy has died in a farming accident in Ballinaboy, Co Mayo.

According to reports the child was fatally injured when he was hit by a trailer on the farm at about 21:00 on Wednesday.

Gardaí said the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and inspectors from that agency will visit the scene in the morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Co Mayo on Friday, 19 February. A man aged in his 30s died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with two articulated trucks on the N5 Knockbrack – main Castlebar to Dublin Rd - at around 5pm.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Accident In Co Mayo
Gardaí in Mayo have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Ballyhaunis late on Wednesday night. A 45-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a car at Grallagh shortly before midnight on 16 December. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Mayo General Hospital for Post Mortem examination.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Accident In Co Mayo
Garda have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Ballina, Co Mayo. A 70-year-old woman was walking on Emmet Street at 21:15 on Thursday night when she was hit by a car. She was taken to Mayo General Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. She was later then returned to Castlebar.
