Man Charged Over Gardaí Drug Seizure

A man arrested on Monday by Gardaí from the National Drugs Unit has been charged and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday 29 July 2014 at 10:30.

The 55-year-old male was arrested on Monday 21 July and detained at Coolock Garda Station following searches in the Kinsealy area, County Dublin.

A substantial amount of cash was discovered and a small amount of controlled drugs seized, Gardaí said.

Euro and Sterling currency with a value of up to €300,000 were also recovered together with small quantities of suspected cocaine and ecstasy.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

Two Arrested In Connection With Dublin Drug Supply
Two men have been arrested in Dublin as part of a gardaí investigation into the supply of drugs in the city. Gardaí said the men, from Eastern Europe, were arrested by the Ballymun Drugs Unit in an underground car park on Tuesday night. It is understood the drugs, worth an estimated €500,000, were seized during the operation.

HSE Issues New Drug Warning
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has issued a new drug warning over a batch of ecstasy-type tablets. They are said to be known as "Double Cross" or "Double Black". The warning comes as gardaí investigate the death of a man at a house party in Main Street, Co Donegal, on Monday.
