Man In Court Over Pub Robbery

A 21-year-old man appeared in court this morning charged in connection with an armed robbery at a public house on Marsh Street in Drogheda.

The incident occurred at approximately 20:15 on 16 November when two males armed with a knife and a shotgun entered the premises and held up staff.

One of the raiders was a held at the scene when customers intervened.

The second male fled the scene. A small amount of cash taken during the raid was later recovered.

A customer and staff member injured during the incident were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A male was arrested at the scene and was detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

He was scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court this morning at 10:00 in connection with the robbery.

Two males have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a chemist in Dublin. Two men, believed to have been armed with handguns, entered the premises at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday night. Two members of staff were threatened, and one received minor injuries. The robbers took a watch from one of the staff members and fled the scene.

Woman's Body Found In County Laoise
Gardai are continuing with their investigations after the discovery of a woman's body in County Laoise. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found at a flat in Mountrath. The alarm was raised shortly after 8pm on Friday. A man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the incident and is detained at Portlaoise Garda Station.

Body Exhumed In Search For Missing Man
Gardaí investigating the disappearance of a man in 1987 have exhumed a body after a tip off. Brian McGrath, aged then 43, was last seen in 1987. Early on Monday morning Gardai exhumed remains at Whitehall Cemetery, Coole, Co Westmeath to be taken to Dublin City Morgue for additional post mortem examination and further tests.
