Men In Court Over Armed Jewellers Robbery

Two men, arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a jeweller's shop in Dublin, are to appear in court today.

A spokesman for Gardaí said that, on Thursday, three males entered a jewellery shop, and one was armed with a firearm.

The men were confronted by members of staff and the public and Gardaí responded and arrested two males, one in his 20s and another in his 40s. Two men were arrested and detained in Pearse St Garda station under the Offences Against the State.

The third male in his 30’s required hospital treatment and was taken to St James Hospital.

The robbery occurred on Dawson Sreet in the capital on the Friday evening.

The two men were charged yesterday and will appear before District Court, Bridewell at 10.30am on Today.

Gardai have appealled for witnesses to the incident and anyone that may have been in the area around the time of the incident to contact Pearse Street Garda Station 01 -6669000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Three More Questioned Over Quinn Murder
Three men are being questioned by the PSNI about the brutal gang-murder of Co Armagh man Paul Quinn after three others were arrested by gardaí earlier. The three men arrested by the PSNI are from the Crossmaglen and Cullyhanna areas and while two are aged in their 50s, one is in his 20s.

Woman Charged Over Fatal Fire In Cork
A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal fire in Mallow, Cork, in March, 2013. Two men died in a fire at an apartment at Granary Court on 13 March, 2014. The woman was arrested on Monday and brought to Mallow Garda Station where she was charged.

Man Arrested Following Robbery In Co Kildare
A 19-year-old man has been arrested following a robbery in Co Kildare. Two men were approached by another male, who had an iron bar, in the Langton Park area in Newbridge at around 4.45am on Sunday, 04 September. The man threatened the two men, took their mobile phones and made off.
