Trial Date Set For Sean FitzPatrick

The trial of former Anglo Irish Back chairman Sean FitzPatrick has been set for October 2014.

FitzPatrick will face charges of failing to make disclosures to the bank's auditors about loans he received.

According to RTÉ, Mr FitzPatrick's defence counsel petitioned Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to set a trial date.

It is expected that the trial will last around two months.

7 October 2014 was set for the trial and 25 July 2014 was set for an update on the trial preparations.

Fitzpatrick Trial Unlikely Before 2014
The trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick is unlikely to happen before the end of 2014. The 64-year-old is facing a total of 12 charges in connection with financial irregularities at the bank over a six-year period. He has yet to enter a plea.

Weapons Seizure Pair Due In Cork Court
There was tight security today at Cork Circuit Criminal Court in advance of the appearance of two men charged in connection with an extensive arms haul in the town last April. Glen Geasley, 26, from Innishmore Drive in Ballincollig and Sean Callinan, 21, from Pearse Park, Tullamore, Co Offaly, are expected to be set a trial date.

Ivor Callely Bogus Expenses Trial Set For March
The trial of former Fianna Fáil Minister of State Ivor Callely will be held next March and is expected to last around two weeks. 54-year-old Callely, of Clontarf, Dublin, is charged with six counts of making bogus mobile phone expenses claims.
