Man Arrested Over Double Knife In Limerick

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a double stabbing incident in Co Limerick.

Two men in their 30s suffered serious knife wounds to their faces in an assault in Newcastle West over the August bank holiday weekend.

Today, 23-year-old Stephen Daly appeared before Limerick District Court today in connection with the incident.

He is charged with assaulting Tim Lynch and David O’Connor, causing them harm, at Maiden Street, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, on August 6.

He is also charged with possession of a knife on the same date, contrary to Section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.

Judge John O’Neill remanded Mr Daly in custody until August 15 next when he is due to appear before the same court again.

Human Remains Confirmed As Missing Limerick Woman
Human remains found in Galway Bay on 29 November have been confirmed as those of missing Limerick woman, Maria Hennigar. The 35-year-old was reported missing on 22 November, although she had not been seen earlier that month.

Investigation Launched Following Bone Discovery In Co Clare
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a bone in Co Clare. A bone was found on Thursday, 22 September, on the Shannon riverbank at Doonass, Clonlara, on the Clare-Limerick border. Gardaí were called to the scene and are understood to have examined and photographed the scene before the bone was removed.
