Man Remanded In Custody Over Serious Assault
A teenager has been remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with a serious assault on a man in Tuam on Sunday.
18-year-old Shane Byrne, of no fixed address, was charged with assault causing harm on Shane Grogan, 22, at Fairgreen.
He is due to appear before Harristown Court on Friday.
The victim was seriously injured in the attack, and has undergone surgery in Beaumount Surgery in Dublin.

Former DUP Leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife, Lady Eleanor Donaldson, have appeared before Newry Magistrates Court charged with a number of historical sex offences. Donaldson, 61, is facing a total of 11 charges, including one charge of rape, one of gross indecency involving a child and nine charges of indecent assault.

Woman Appears In Court Over Galway Death
A woman is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning charged in connection with the death of a man in the city on Monday night. Joe O’Brien’s body was found at Scotch Marsh House apartment complex, Scotch Quay, Waterford. A post-mortem found he died from head injuries.
