Man In Court Over Dublin Hammer Attack
A man has appeared before Blanchardstown District Court today, charged with the serious assault of his wife at their home in west Dublin last week.
Andrez Benko, 39, has been charged with assaulting his wife Joanna, 31, at their home in Ladyswell Road, Mulhuddart on Monday.
Joanna Benko, 31, suffered serious head injuries when she was beaten with a hammer. She remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.
The couple's three-year-old son was in the house at the time of the attack.
Mr Benko has been remanded in custody with consent to bail.

Man Charged Over Serious Assault
A man in his 20s is expected to appear in court, charged in connection with a serious assault that happened at Dorset Street, Dublin. On Sunday morning, at around 1.45am, Gardaí were called to the scene at an apartment at Kelly's Row. A man, aged in his 30s, was suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man, 19, is due to appear before court in Cavan charged in connection with a serious attack on another man. The victim, 21, was found on the Ballinagh Road at Creighan suffering serious head injuries. He was taken to Cavan Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
