Woman Appears In Court Over Galway Death

A woman is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning charged in connection with the death of a man in the city on Monday night.

Joe O’Brien’s body was found at Scotch Marsh House apartment complex, Scotch Quay, Waterford. A post-mortem found he died from head injuries.

The woman was one of two people arrested at the scene and questioned at Waterford Garda station.

Yesterday, a man appeared before Waterford District Court charged with assault causing serious harm.

Pat Keating (47), Moyne House, Grattan Quay, was charged with assault causing serious harm under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Body Of Missing Woman Frankie Devlin Found
Gardaí have reported that the body of Frankie Devlin was recovered on Wednesday 9 October. Ms Devlin (67) was reported missing on Saturday 5 October and a search operation had been ongoing. The discovery was made on the same day that garda had renewed an appeal for information on the whereabouts of Ms Devlin.

Garda Investigate Body Found At House In Waterford
Gardaí in Waterford City have said the body of a woman has been found at a house in St John's Park. The Fire Brigade found the body, understood to be a woman aged in her 60s, at about 18:00 on Tuesday at a house in Killure Grove.

Tests May Show Park Body Is Romanian
DNA tests are to be carried out after lines of inquiry have suggested the woman found stabbed to death in the Phoenix Park last week was a Romanian national. After a series of high profile appeals to the public, Gardaí have been given reason to believe the unidentified woman may be a Romanian woman who was living in Dublin for some time.
