Van Collision Leave One Dead In Wexford

A collision between two vans has killed one driver and left another seriously injured.

The accident happened at Gorey, Co. Wexford around 21:50 last night.

A yet to be identified 41-year-old man was fatally injured and the driver of the second van, aged 38, was seriously injured and taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin.

Both drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles.

The road is currently closed to allow a forensic collision examination to take place.

Gardai in the area have appealed for any witnesses of the accident to contact Gorey Garda Station on 053-9430690.

Road Victims Named
The Garda has named the two people who were killed at the weekend in separate road accidents. The 27-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Saturday was Barry Murphy of Anneville Crescent, Dundalk, Co. Louth. They are investigating the fatal road traffic collision at Beamore Road, Drogheda. It occurred at approx 3.

Woman Seriously Injured In Three-Car Accident
A woman has been seriously injured following a three-car collision on the N4 Dublin/Sligo Road. The crash occurred on the Edgeworth Road at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday (7 January). The woman is currently being treated at Midland Regional Hospital. The main Dublin/Sligo Road has been closed and diversions are in place.
