One Dies And Two Injured In Co Cavan Road Crash

A man has been killed and two seriously injured in a road crash at Stradone, Co Cavan.

The collision occurred at around 12:30am.

The driver of one vehicle, a man understood to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the driver of the second vehicle and his passenger were taken to Cavan General Hospital, where their condition is described as serious,

The collision is under investigation and the road is closed for a forensic examination.

Woman Dies In Cavan Road Traffic Collision
A 48-year-old woman has died and two others have been injured in a two-vehicle collision in Co Cavan. The accident happened at around 8.45am, 3km north of Cavan town. It is understood the dead woman was the driver of one of the cars involved in the crash. The driver and passenger of the other car – two women – both received serious injures.

Deadly Cavan Road Crash Probed
Two men have been killed following a road traffic collision near Virginia, Co Cavan. The accident involving a car and a van occurred on the N3 near Lisduff, Virginia at 10.30pm on Wednesday. The dead men were travelling in the van with the driver being in his late 20s and the passenger in his late 30s.

Renewed Appeal Over Murder Of Taxi Driver
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

Man Seriously Injured In Road Accident
A pensioner remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Waterford City yesterday. The 81-year-old man was struck by a 4a4 vehicle on the Cork Road at approximately 2.30pm. He is believed to be in a serious condition in Waterford Regional Hospital. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
