Bus And SUV Crash In Tragic Collision

A man has been killed after a fatal collision between a bus and an SUV in Meath this morning.

Gardai are investigating the fatal traffic collision, which occurred at a roundabout on the N7 near Enfield, Co Meath at 6.40am this morning. In the incident, a Bus Eireann bus collided with an SUV.

The 37-year-old driver of the SUV was fatally injured in the crash, while a female passenger, in her 30s, received minor injuries.

The driver of the bus, a man in his 30s, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he is not thought to be seriously injured.

The body of the deceased was taken to Nass General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The road at the scene of the crash will be closed until this afternoon, to allow the area be examined by a Garda forensic team.

Two Pedestrians Killed In Collisions On Tuesday
Two men have been killed in separate traffic collisions on Tuesday. Gardaí at Bundoran are investigating the first collision that occurred on Main Street Bundoran at approximately 12.10am in the early hours of Tuesday morning. In the incident an 18-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by an articulated lorry.

Gardaí Appeal For Information On Fatal Road Crash In Co Westmeath
Gardaí have appealed for information on a fatal road traffic accident near Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Saturday morning. Three women and a ten-year-old girl died when a car and an SUV collided near Portnashangan, just north of Mullingar on the main N4 Dublin to Sligo road at about 07:30am on Saturday.
