Road Victims Named

The Garda has named the two people who were killed at the weekend in separate road accidents.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Saturday was Barry Murphy of Anneville Crescent, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

They are investigating the fatal road traffic collision at Beamore Road, Drogheda.

It occurred at approx 3.30pm on Saturday and involved a motor-cycle and a lorry which were in collision.

The male motorcyclist was taken to the Our Lady Of Lourdes, Hospital Drogheda where he was pronounced dead, but no other person was injured.

The scene of the collision was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Meanwhile, Gardai at Donegal Town have named the 40-year-old pedestrian fatally injured in yesterday's collision.

He was Graham Manoe from Bridgetown, Laghey, Co Donegal.

Gardai at Donegal Town are investigating the collision that occurred shortly after 12.30am on Saturday.

It happened on the main N15 between Ballyshannon and Donegal Town.

The 40-year-old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a car.

He was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where a post mortem has since taken place.

Gardai have closed a section of road and put diversions in place for a time as the scene was being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Two people have also been killed in accidents in the North.

A 20-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he received in a traffic accident on the Hilltown Road in Newry on Thursday, 23 October.

He was Daniel David McCormack from Castlewellan.

Two cars were involved in the collision, which happened close to the Benagh Road junction.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl has died after a traffic accident in Lisburn on Friday night. She was Elyce Lewsey from the Oakridge area of the city.

The police said only one vehicle was involved in the accident, which occurred on the Rock Road shortly after 9pm.

John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Man Dies In Blarney Road Crash
A man has been killed in a two vehicle road crash that occurred between Parkanna Cross Rd and Davis Cross on the Blarney to Bweeng Road at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday. The man in his 20's was fatally injured when his car collided with a lorry. He was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ireland's roads have claimed the lives of two pedestrians over the weekend as a result of two separate incidents. In the latest incident, a male pedestrian aged in his 50s was fatally injured when struck by a passing motor car.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.
