Two More Explosive Devices Found

A viable improvised explosive device (IED) was found shortly after midnight lastnight outside a house at Dunmore Park in Tallaght in Dublin.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team (ABDT) attended the scene and houses in the surrounding area were evacuated, the device was destroyed in a controlled explosion at about 3am.

Separately, a World War One era grenade was found in the garden of a private residence in Manorhamilton in Co Leitrim.

The ABDT removed the grenade to a secure military location and carried out a controlled explosion.

The Defence Forces have deployed Bomb Disposal Teams to seven incidents in the last four days, five in Dublin and one each in Cork and Leitrim.

Gardai Investigate Explosives Found In Co Kildare
Gardai are investigating two viable explosive devices found in the area of the rail line in Athay, County Kildare. The Army Bomb Disposal Team were alerted and the area was delared safe at arounf 7pm. Train services had to be stopped for a short while and house also had to be evacuated.

Suspect Devices In Dublin Made Safe
Two suspect devices discovered in Dublin on Saturday night have been made safe. The army bomb disposal team were called to a house at Arglen in Lucan at around 10pm. The device was made sage a short time after. A second device was found on the Capplagh Road after midnight and was also made safe.

Viable IED Found Under Car In South Dublin
A viable explosive device has been found under a car in south Dublin. According to the Irish Independent, a viable IED (improvised explosive device) was found under a car in the Glenshane area of Jobstown in Tallaght, south Dublin. The Army Bomb Disposal Team were called at around 21:25 and a number of residents evacuated from their homes.

Viable Device In Dublin Made Safe
The Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a viable device in Dublin. The improvised explosive was found close to the Hollystown roundabout, on the Cappagh Road in Finglas, at approximately 11.45pm on Tuesday night. The area was sealed off for a period of time and the device has been taken for further examination.

Residents Removed After Suspect Device Found
A number of residents from Dublin city centre had to be evacuated from their homes after a suspicious device was found. At around 11.40pm last night gardai were alerted of car windows being smashed on Forbes Lane. The device was found inside the car, and an army bomb disposal team was called. The device has been removed for technical examinations.
