Man Dies Following Assault In Thurles
A man has died in hospital after being attacked in Thurles at the weekend.
James Tynan, 25, sustained serious head injuries following an assault outside a nightclub.
Mr Tynan had been socialising in Hayes Hotel on Saturday night when he was assaulted in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.
He died last night at South Tipperary General Hospital.
A 22-year-old male was arrested at the scene but has been released without charge.
A file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Man Attacked In Dublin
A man is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin on Sunday night. The 29-year-old man was taken to the Beaumount Hospital following the attack which happened on Glin Road, Coolock. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Man Charged In Connection With Stabbing Teen
A man has appeared in court charged in relation to the stabbing of a 16-year-old in Drogheda, Co Louth, on Wednesday. Jamie Gallagher, 21, faces two charges, assault causing harm and producing a knife. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Thursday.

Afghanistan Veteran On Rape Charge
A bomb-blasted former soldier has appeared in court in Belfast charged with rape and false imprisonment. Gerald Verner, 23, of Forthriver Park, who was deafened by a bomb in Afghanistan, is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and threats to kill against the same woman.

Appeal Issued Following Serious Assault In Limerick
Gardaí in Limerick have issued an appeal for witnesses to a serious assault in the city centre on Wednesday night, 12 October. It is understood a man, aged in his 50s, was seriously injured during an altercation with another man in the city centre shortly before 8pm. The second man is understood to have fled the scene on foot.

Man In Hospital Following Assault
A man is recovering in hospital after being assaulted. The victim, reported to be 58 years of age, was assaulted on Robert Emmet Walk, Dublin 8, some time between 10.30pm and 11pm on Sunday night. He was found on Cork Street, over an hour later. He has been taken to St James' Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
