Man Arrested Following Serious Assault

A man has been arrested following a serious assault on a 25-year-old male in Thurles.

The incident occurred at around 1.30am on Sunday morning at Liberty Square.

The victim is in a critcal condition at the South Tipperary General hospital in Clonmel.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident and are asking them to contact Thurles Garda Station on Tel: 0504 25100 or the confidential telephone line.

Gardaí announced this morning they had arrested two males, one juvenile and one in his late teens, in relation to a serious assault which took place over the weekend in the Thurles area, County Tipperary.

A 22-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a "serious assault" in County Tipperary. Gardai in Thurles are investigating the serious assault that occured on Mitchell Street, Thurles outside a licenced premises at approximately 1.30am on Sunday morning.
