Man Charged With Manslaughter Of James Tynan

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the manslaughter of James Tynan, 25.

The victim died after being assaulted on Liberty Square, Thurles on 19 February this year.

He appeared before Thurles district court this morning.

At Nenagh Circuit Court a 23-year old Tipperary man has admitted his part in the unlawful killing of James Tynan, 25, in Thurles almost a year ago. Jason Morrissey of Church Street, Toomevara, pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of Mr Tynan, at Liberty Square in Thurles on 19 February 2012.

Man Dies Following Assault In Thurles
A man has died in hospital after being attacked in Thurles at the weekend. James Tynan, 25, sustained serious head injuries following an assault outside a nightclub. Mr Tynan had been socialising in Hayes Hotel on Saturday night when he was assaulted in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.

IBAL Names Naas As Cleanest Town In Co Kildare
Naas has been named the cleanest town in Co Kildare by the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL). The IBAL results show the county town finishing 12th overall in the national rankings. Naas Mayor Councillor James Lawless welcomed the results. He said: "This is a great positive result for Naas town.
