Two Arrested Over Thurles Assault
Two males have been arrested in connection with a "serious assault" that took place during the early hours of Sunday morning in Thurles.
Gardaí announced this morning they had arrested two males, one juvenile and one in his late teens, in relation to a serious assault which took place over the weekend in the Thurles area, County Tipperary.
The two are currently being detained in Thurles Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Following the attack, a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition after what Gardaí described as a "serious assault" in Tipperary.
Gardaí in Thurles are continuing to investigate the incident that occurred on Mitchell Street, Thurles outside a licenced premises at approximately 1.30am on Sunday morning.
According to Gardaí, the 22-year-old man was seriously assaulted and was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital.
The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information to contact Thurles Garda Station on 0504-25100, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
