Fatal Road Collisions Claim Three Lives

Gardaí at Enniscorthy are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred sometime after 3.30am this morning at Coolacarney, Ballindangan, Co. Wexford.

The two male occupants of a car were taken to Wexford General Hospital after the car they were travelling in collided with the pillar of a wall.

The 17-year-old driver of the car and his passenger were pronounced dead.

A forensic collision investigation has begun and the road will remain closed to allow it's completion.

In a separate incident, around the same time, Gardaí at Ballybunion attended the scene of a traffic collision whereby a car was found on it's roof in a field where it had left the road at Slieveawaddra, Ballyduff, Co. Kerry.

The 41-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Tralee General Hospital.

No other vehicle was believed to be involved in this collision.

Witnesses are asked to contact Listowel Garda Station.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. Man Dies In Co Monaghan Road Crash
A man has died in a road crash in Co Monaghan, gardaí have reported. According to gardaí the man in his 20s died in a two-car collision on the N2 Dublin-Monaghan, south of Carrickmacross. It is understood the victim was the driver of the one of the cars involved in the accident.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Woman Seriously Injured In Three-Car Accident
A woman has been seriously injured following a three-car collision on the N4 Dublin/Sligo Road. The crash occurred on the Edgeworth Road at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday (7 January). The woman is currently being treated at Midland Regional Hospital. The main Dublin/Sligo Road has been closed and diversions are in place.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Collision In Co Wexford
Gardaí in Co Wexford have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Ballycanew in the early hours of this morning, Thursday. A 21-year-old man was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a truck at about 05:25 on the Ballycanew to Wexford road, around one mile outside Ballycanew.
