Three Die In Road Accident

Gardaí in Newcastle West are investigating a two vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at Garryduff in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick last night.

It happened at approximately 9.10pm on Sunday and left three men (all aged in their 30s) dead at the scene after the people carrier in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a car.

Three other occupants of the people carrier were taken to Limerick Regional Hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The four occupants of the car were not seriously injured.

The road has now re-opened following a technical examination but anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Gardaí in Newcastle West on 069 20650 or the Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Co Limerick Road Accident
An 82-year-old woman has died in a road accident in County Limerick. Gardaí said the woman was crossing a road at about 17:45 on Sunday in Croom, when she was hit by a car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

63-Year-Old Dies In Co Limerick Road Crash
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road crash in Co Limerick this morning. A 63-year-old man died in a two vehicle collision on the R523 in Athea at around 07:10am on Friday. Another man, understood the be 33, was taken to University Hospital Limerick, his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.
