Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions

A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend.

In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Gardaí said the road is currently closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out technical examinations in the area and that diversions are in place.

Shortly before that collision, A 51 year old man was taken to Beaumont Hospital and pronounced dead after the car in which he was the sole occupant collided with a wall.

Gardai in Rush, County Dublin are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Skerries Road in Rush shortly after Sunday midnight.

Meanwhile, 4.30pm on Saturday saw another motorcycle collide with a car. The 43-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Galway University Hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Gardaí in Galway said they are investigating the collision that occurred at Knockdoebeg, Lackagh Co Galway - about 13 miles outside Galway city just off the Galway to Tuam Rd.

Finally, Gardai in Mayo said they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred shortly before 11.30pm on Friday.

During the incident a 23-year-old man, the driver and only occupant of a car, was fatally injured when his car was in collision with another car. The two occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured.

The injured man was removed to Mayo General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash happened at on the N5 at Carrowgowan near the village of Bohola and the road at the scene was closed to allow a examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. Man Killed In Fatal Car Crash In Co Monaghan
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a car crash in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle collision happened at 6:30pm on the N54 Monaghan to Clones Road in Aghalisk yesterday, 05 January. The 68-year-old victim was fatally injured in the crash and declared dead at the scene.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Man Dies Following Galway Road Collision
A man has died following a road collision in Galway. The incident happened at Glenascaul in Oranmore around 1:30pm on Thursday. It is understood that the car the man was travelling in collided with a tractor.

Woman Killed In Road Traffic Collision
A woman has died in a road traffic collision in Co Galway. The incident happened on the Oranmore to Craughwell road yesterday 6 July at around 4:20pm. The victim, who was in her fifties, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle, approximately 3 kilometres from Craughwell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
