Cannabis Factory Uncovered In Tipperary

Gardaí have uncovered in excess of 1,500 cannabis plants as well as a quantity of cannabis herb in Tipperary.

As the result of an ongoing operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis plants in the Tipperary Division Gardaí at Borrisokane searched a business premises on Main Street in the early hours of Saturday 9th April 2011.

The combined potential street value of this seizure is approximately €900,000.

The premises had been renovated into a sophisticated cannabis growing factory and extensive lighting/heat and ventilation systems had been installed. Incubation and potting rooms were also in situ.

A large amount of cultivation paraphernalia was found on the premises.

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.

500 Cannabis Plants Seized And Man Arrested
Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the discovery of around 500 cannabis plants. The plants were discovered at a commercial premises on the Clondalkin Industrial Estate in Dublin. The have an estimated street value of €400,000. According to Gardaí a sophisticated cultivation system was in place at the site.

Garda Seize Cannabis Plants Worth €400,000
Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 have been seized following a search at a house in in Co Kildare. Garda found the plants inside a residence in Ballyboeen, Kilcock as part of an ongoing investigation. No arrests have yet been made and garda have said the investigation is ongoing.

Four Arrested In Connection With Drugs Seizures
Around €1m worth of drugs were seized as part of a planned Garda Operation in Longford and South Roscommon. Four people have been arrested in connection in what is believed to be nearly 2,000 cannabis plants. A man in his 20's was arrested after around 800 cannabis plants were seized at a growhouse in the South Roscommon area.

€200,000 Of Cannabis Plants Found In Co Cavan
Gardai have discovered cannabis plants, with a street value of approximately €200,000, at a premises in County Cavan on Tuesday night. Gardai discovered the drugs as part of an ongoing investigation against the supply and sale of drugs in the area. The plants were discovered at disused premises in Mullanwary. No arrests have been made.

'Plan Ahead' For St Patrick's Day Events This Weekend
Belfast City Council has outlined traffic and travel arrangements ahead of this Sunday's St Patrick's Day event in Belfast. A number of traffic diversions will be in place in and around Belfast city centre. Visitors and participants are advised to plan their journey in advance and leave extra time to travel to and from the city centre.
