Two Teens Killed In Separate Collisions
Two teenagers have been fatally injured during two separate road collisions in Westmeath and County Cork.
In the most recent incident, an 18-year-old male passenger of a car was killed after the car he was traveling in collided with a van about one mile outside Rosscarbery on the Skibbereen Road in County Cork.
The incident occurred at approximately 8pm on Tuesday night.
Gardai in Clonakilty said they are investigating the incident, and that the road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision asking witnesses to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 8821570, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
Only hours before the fatal crash a 19-year-old male driver and sole occupant of a vehicle was fatally injured after hitting a second vehicle in County Westmeath.
Gardaí said this morning he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. One of the two occupants of the second vehicle was also taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar with injuries described as not life threatening.
Gardai at Mullingar said they are investigating the collision that occurred on the Athboy to Delvin Road (N51) at approximately 3.20pm yesterday afternoon.
The road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and diversions have been erected.
Gardai said they wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision also, asking witnesses to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044 9384000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Second Arrest Made Over Ennis Shooting
A second man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old father of two in Limerick early yesterday morning. Gardai investigating the shooting, which occurred on the Ennis Road outside Limerick said this morning they had made a second arrest, this time of a male in his late 20’s.

A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dublin Shooting Incident
Gardaí investigating a shooting incident outside a west Dublin school have made an arrest. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested during the course of the search operation in Corduff. He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in an operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the Crumlin area of Dublin. Gardaí from Sundrive Road Garda Station arrested the man on Tuesday, 12 July, shortly after 9pm when they stopped and searched a car and its occupant close to Old County Road and discovered a firearm and ammunition.
