Baby Boy Killed In Westmeath Collision

A 22-month-old boy has died at Temple Street Children's Hospital today after a traffic collision in Moate, County Westmeath on Saturday.

The child was struck by a car in the Coillin Buí estate in the town at about 1.45pm and taken to Mullingar General Hospital. He was later transferred to Temple Street.

Gardaí said the collision is under investigation.

Gardai are also investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Drumard, Dromad, Co.Leitrim, which occurred last night at about 10.00pm.

A 25-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving crashed. The woman was on her own in the car at the time and there was no other vehicle involved in the collision. The woman's body was removed from the scene to Sligo General Hospital where an post mortem examination is expected to be carried out today.

The road at the scene remains closed pending an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. Two Pedestrians Killed In Collisions On Tuesday
Two men have been killed in separate traffic collisions on Tuesday. Gardaí at Bundoran are investigating the first collision that occurred on Main Street Bundoran at approximately 12.10am in the early hours of Tuesday morning. In the incident an 18-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by an articulated lorry.

Pedestrian Killed In Co Mayo
A female pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a van while walking on a minor road at Bunnahowen, Glencastle, this morning. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to Mayo General Hospital for a post mortem examination. Forensic collision investigators are currently at the scene and the road has been closed.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Cyclist Is Hit By Bus
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a cyclist was hit by a bus in south Dublin. According to gardaí, a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bus while cycling at about 21:40 on Burlington Road on Monday night. She is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal single road traffic collision in Ballybofey, Co Donegal. The incident occurred on the R252, Glenfin Road at around 4.15pm on Wednesday, 21 September.
