Pedestrian Killed In Co Mayo

A female pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a van while walking on a minor road at Bunnahowen, Glencastle, this morning.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to Mayo General Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Forensic collision investigators are currently at the scene and the road has been closed.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Pedestrian Killed By SUV In Co Louth
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the Slane Road in Drogheda. A male pedestrian, aged in his 40s, died in hospital after he was struck by an SUV at about 10.20pm on Wednesday night, 11 August. The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

Another Deadly Road Collision Reported
There has been yet another fatal road accident. The gardaí in Co Cork are this afternoon investigating the circumstances of a deadly road traffic collision which occurred on the Main St, Macroom just after noon today. The police have reported that a female pedestrian involved in the incident was killed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road Deaths Prompt Call For School Speed Limits
The spate of recent road deaths over the weekend has prompted Fine Gael's Integration Spokesman to demand more speed limits near Irish schools. TD Denis Naughten, the party's voice on immigration and integration said pupils lives were at risk as just six schools had specially reduced speed limits near their grounds.

Pedestrian Hit And Killed After Van Mounts The Pavement In Dublin
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a van in Raheny, Dublin 5 yesterday. It is believed that at approximately 7pm last night, Wednesday 04 March, a van mounted the pavement on the James Larkin road and struck a female pedestrian.

Pedestrian Killed In Tipperary Road Collision
A pedestrian has been killed in a road collision in Co Tipperary. The incident happened at Turtulla Cross at around 3pm on Saturday afternoon. The 47-year-old victim was treated at the scene, however he was pronounced dead at the South Tipperary General Hospital. A post mortem is expected to be carried out.
