Lucas Terror Teen On Drugs

A teen has said 'sorry' for his drink and drug-fuelled actions on Dublin's public transport.

Anthony Dwyer (18) grabbed a man's laptop bag, and during the struggle the victim was assaulted and left with cuts and scrapes to his face and body.

The defendant apologised for his behaviour, saying he didn't really remember the incident.

The teen, who attacked and robbed the passenger on a Red Line Luas tram has claimed he was high on drink and drugs at the time of the incident.

However, a judge said this week that Dwyer had an "appalling record" for a young man and sentenced him to six months in prison.

Dwyer who had been homeless and an orphan since his parents died when he was 15 years old, has an address at Eden Quay, Dublin 1, and admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to robbing his victim on the Luas.

He also admitted to assaulting the man in the incident at Naas Road, Clondalkin on April 5 last year.
