Gunman Arrested In Dublin
A 21-year-old man was last night in custody following the seizure of a fully loaded handgun and a small quantity of cannabis last night.
Gardaí in Dublin arrested the suspect after the revolver was recovered along with around €1,600 worth of cannabis during a raid on a house in the Barry Drive area of Finglas.
Gardaí said the house was targeted as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the area.
The man detained in connection with the seizure is being questioned at Finglas garda station.
Meanwhile, gardaí investigating two separate earlier drug seizures have released three of the four men previously arrested.
They said that a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and submitted on completion.
A fourth man - aged 22 - who was also arrested has been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am this morning.
The court appearance follows the seizure of heroin on St Margarets Rd, Finglas, earlier this week after which the police carried out a follow-up search at an apartment in the Northwood Complex in Santry.
In the course of the search they recovered what is believed to be a further €280,000 worth of heroin subject to analysis.

Men Arrested Over Cannabis Seizure
Gardaí in Co Longford have arrested two men in connection with cannabis herb worth an estimated €40,000. Officers seized the drugs during a search of a premises in Newtownforbes on Saturday night. Garda say that one of the men remains in custody and that their investigation is ongoing.
