Man Arrested In Connection With Foxborough CIT Raid

A man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with a failed cash raid in June when one man was shot dead by Gardaí.

Gardai in Lucan investigating the attempted armed robbery, which took place on the Foxborough Road in Lucan on the 15th May, say they have arrested a male is in his early 20's in the Foxdene estate of Lucan today. He is currently being detained at Lucan Garda Station.

During the incident, a man died during a shootout involving what is believed to be a criminal gang and Garda officers in Dublin.

A second man was also been injured during the attempted raid on a cash-in-transit van.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit where involved in the incident and had intercepted the armed group at Foxborough Road an noon.

The dead man was one of two suspected raiders shot during the foiled raid.

At the time of the incident, a Gardaí spokesman said: "During the incident a number of shots were fired and two men were injured. One of the men has since died in hospital. The State Pathologist has been contacted."

At least one sawn-off shotgun was been recovered, along with a stolen car.

A youth in his late teens was also arrested today along during the suspected raider's seizure for unrelated offences. He is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

€60k Cocaine Seized In Co Cork Raid
Gardaí in Co Cork have seized over €60,000 worth of suspected cocaine and a suspected imitation firearm. The drugs were discovered at a house in the Newmarket area on Thursday night, 12 September. No arrests have been made as yet. An investigation is ongoing and all items will be sent for analysis.
