Teenager Found Dead In Killarney

The body of a 17-year-old man has been found on the Rock Road, Killarney, Co Kerry.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery, that took place today at 1.45 am.

The teenager was pronounced dead at scene, and is not thought to have been there long.

Detectives are treating the death as violent and suspicious.

They are appealing for witnesses and have preserved the scene for forensic technical examination.

The State Pathologist will carry out an autopsy later today.

Public Advised To 'Stay Away' From Western Area Of Killarney National Park
The public is being advised to "stay away" from the Western area of Killarney National park following a fire. The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht called for people to avoid the area, near Tomies Wood, after emergency services were called to combat a fire.
