Gardaí Launch Investigation Following Discovery of Woman's Body in Killarney

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the body of a female was discovered in Killarney today, Tuesday 7th July 2026.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at a domestic residence this afternoon, where the woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced deceased.

The State Pathologist has been informed, and a post-mortem examination is to be scheduled in due course. The scene is presently preserved to allow for a technical examination to take place.

A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to oversee the case, and an incident room has been set up at Killarney Garda station.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. In particular, individuals who were in the Muckross Road area of Killarney between the evening of Monday 6th July and the afternoon of Tuesday 7th July 2026 are urged to contact authorities. Anyone who may have captured camera footage, including CCTV or dashcam recordings from the area during this timeframe, is asked to make it available to the investigation team.

The investigation remains ongoing.
